Portfolio Rules
How We Operate
- No minimum or maximum allocations to any asset class.
- Maximum leverage of 2.5x on a total portfolio basis.
- Trades only occur after subscribers receive orders — via video or email with full rationale. No exceptions.
- More complex options strategies employed.
Portfolio Aims
What We're Building Toward
- Keep volatility of returns low.
- Maintain a diversified portfolio across asset classes and geographies.
- Compound at a reasonable rate — above risk-free cash returns.
- Preserve principal. Never risk more than a pre-determined percentage of invested capital.
The Weekly Cadence
What You Get Each Week
The Video
A Saturday video covering the week's market developments, portfolio implications, and any changes being made — with exact reasoning and price levels before orders are placed.
The File
A downloadable Excel with current allocations plus full broker statements. Every position, every week. Scalable: divide your account size by $1,000,000 to size your positions.
The Bulletin Board
Squared subscribers also get access to a bulletin board for orders and comments — and can have their questions answered directly. A step beyond the Original program.
A futures account is strongly advised.
While a standard brokerage account is sufficient to follow the Original program and even adequate for Squared, we strongly recommend opening a futures account. Leverage in this portfolio is most often deployed through futures and options on futures — it's quicker, cheaper, and more efficient. Without one, you'll need to calculate futures/cash basis equivalence and sizing parameters yourself. If you can't do that quickly and accurately, open a futures account. It will save you time and money.
Performance

In September 2024 we start a $1,000,000 real money portfolio for the more sophisticated investor, who has slightly more time to devote to managing their assets. We do not anticipate that one would need more than 1 hour/week of active participation.
This portfolio will also be long only, but will have the following self-imposed rules:
- No minimum or maximum allocations to any asset class.
- A maximum leverage of 2.5x on a total portfolio basis.
- To only trade after giving subscribers the orders in the video or after sending them an email with the trade and reason.
- More complex option strategies.
The aims of the portfolio will be more ambitious in terms of performance, but the essential aims of the original program will still hold true:
- To keep volatility of returns low.
- To keep a diversified portfolio.
- To compound at a reasonable rate, but above risk free cash returns.
- To “keep you rich” or to keep your money working for you without risking more than a pre-determined percentage of the principal invested.
While a normal, standard brokerage account is perfectly adequate to trade all the instruments used in 2GB Original, and is even enough to follow the Squared program, we strongly advise you to have a futures account as well, as we will most often employ leverage through futures and options on futures. It’s quicker, easier and less expensive: altogether more convenient. If you don’t have one, you will have to calculate the futures/cash basis equivalence and the sizing parameters by yourself. If you are not able to do that quickly and accurately, please open a futures account. It will save you time and money.
